MELS Scholarship
To be awarded, on the recommendation of the MELS committee, to an academically outstanding MELS student(s)from a societal group under-represented in STEM, specifically women, Indigenous students, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and visible minorities. If such students cannot be identified, the scholarship will go to the most academically outstanding MELS student who has not received a major award that academic year. Students who apply must provide a statement of self-declaration identifying the under-represented group with which they identify. Applicants must possess a minimum GPA of 3.80 (on a 4.30 scale) over their last 30 credit hours at an accredited university. To aid in the selection process, applicants meeting the outlined criteria will submit a one-page essay outlining how the scholarship will enhance their overall productivity in the program.
